MUZZAFARABAD: A day of mourning was observed in Azad Kashmir on Friday to condemn the massive human rights violations, killings of non-combatant Kashmiri youth and illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders in Indian occupied Kashmir.

The call for mourning was given by joint resistance leadership of Indian occupied Kashmir, which was endorsed by the AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan.

AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan while talking to France Ambassador to Pakistan Marc Baréty called upon civilized nations of the world to support Kashmiris struggle for right to self -determination.

He said Kashmir is the sole irritant between India and Pakistan and normal relations between the two countries were not possible without resolving this issue in line with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The PM emphasized that it is the moral responsibility of the world to take notice of the violation of human rights in Kashmir and provocative actions of Indian army at Line of Control by targeting civilian population of Azad Kashmir.

The state flag flew at half mast to mark the day.  Ulema and religious scholars in their Friday sermons strongly condemned the atrocities of Indian troops on the unarmed Kashmiris struggling for their internationally recognized right to self-determination.

The ulema appealed OIC, United Nations and other countries of the world to take serious notice of the deteriorating human rights situation and exert pressure on India to stop bloodshed of Kashmiri Muslims.

Special prayers were also offered for early liberation of IOK and for the progress and stability of Pakistan.
