SMIU to inaugurate international conference on business, leadership today

Six technical sessions planned on topics related to business and economy

Sindh Madressatul Islam University's (SMIU) business administration department is organising a two-day international conference on management, business and leadership starting today (Thursday).

SMIU Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh will inaugurate the conference at 9am. SMIU Faculty of Business Administration Dean Prof Dr Zahid Ali Chanar will deliver the welcome address.

International experts who will address the conference include Dr Joann Rolle and Dr Wallace Ford from the United States, Dr Dalia Strimikiene of Lithuania and Dr Asoka Jinadas of Sri Lanka, while the national experts include Usman Muneer, Shamsuddin Shaikh, Mehr Malik, Naseem Baig and others.

Apart from the inaugural and concluding sessions, six technical sessions will be held on various topics related to business, economy, marketing activities, management, leadership, traditional and digital marketing platforms, banking sector, role of social capital, impact of domestic borrowings on unemployment rate, agriculture sector, poverty, prosperity and macroeconomic variables.



In this regard, a meeting of the organising committee of the conference was held on Tuesday in SMIU's conference room. Chaired by the SMIU vice-chancellor, all arrangements were reviewed and finalised during the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, the VC had said that this is the most important international conference which was being attended by experts in the field of business and commerce.



This conference will provide an open forum for debate on economic issues of the country with reference to the international market, he had said. The meeting was attended by Dr Chanar, the in-charge of the business administration department, Dr Subhash Guriro, Registrar Gulzar Ahmed Mughal and others.
