LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the hearing of the bail applications of Hamesh Khan, the former president of the Bank of Punjab and the principal accused in a Rs9 billion loan scam, and his co-accused Sheikh Afzal, the owner of Haris Steel Mills, till May 23. The bench adjourned as the counsel for the Bank of Punjab did not appear. Khan’s counsel Mehmood A Sheikh argued that the case had been investigated by more than one officer with differing outcomes, so his client should be let go.
