
Along with Iqbal the defending champion Waheed Baloch, Muhammad Munir, Matloob Qureshi, Taimur Amin will also be featuring in the championship sponsored by Chevron Pakistan Lubricants.
The defending champion Baloch hopes to defeat top golfer Iqbal once more. “I was able to win the last title and will be putting maximum efforts to retain the title. It will be difficult but if i get hold of the winds then it is possible,” Baloch told The Express Tribune.
The championship will be played over 54 holes from May 11-13. Besides professionals some 200 golfers will be participating in categories; Amateurs, Senior Professionals, Seniors, Veterans, Ladies, Juniors and Masters.

Secretary DACGC Brigadier Qasim Changezi shared the details of the tournament during a press conference, stressing that all efforts will be made to make the event a success.
Meanwhile, the country Chairman and Area Business Manager of Chevron, Muhammad Najam reiterated his company's commitment towards the promotion of sports.
“Chevron Pakistan having the legacy of more than 75 years of service in this region, they have stepped in to support the sports community events and activities like this championship,” he said.
The yearly Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) event is the most awaited event among golfers. The total prize money set is Rs3.5 million. The even will be played at the lush green DHA golf club where golfers from north are often troubled by the sea wind.
