AJK PM pledges to regulate use of social media

Raja Farooq Haider says distinction needs to be made between right and wrong use of social media

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said on Tuesday that the government would regulate the use of social media.

"A line needs to be drawn between the right and wrong use of social media," he said while speaking at the Kashmir House Islamabad.

At the same time the AJK premier maintained that the government would not impose any restrictions on the positive use of social media.

"We'll take action against anyone that violates the cybercrime laws," he warned.

To ensure safety of the people living along the Line of Control, PM Haider said: "We all need to focus on protecting the lives of citizens along the LoC."

He went on to say said that there is a dire need to maintain law and order in these areas, as well as, to leave no stone unturned in providing relief to residents.

"We're going to establish village defence committees along the LoC which will be done after consulting with the Pakistan Army," he said, adding, "I want all the victims of Indian firing along the LoC to be given timely relief and no negligence will be accepted in this regard."

There's zero tolerance, the prime minister said, for poor performance of administrative officers," he added.
