PTI to take fight to PML-N

Aleem Khan predicts clean sweep of Central Punjab in elections

LAHORE: “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will contest 2018 general elections in a more organised manner and give a tough time to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The party will not only sweep the polls from central Punjab, but also win elections from the entire country under the leadership of Imran Khan.”

This was stated by PTI Central Punjab President Aleem Khan after he took interviews of prospective candidates for national and provincial assembly’ seats. Aleem Khan told the media that the party has not issued a single party ticket to any leader, including its chairman, for the upcoming general elections.

Imran Khan to contest polls from three provinces

After getting applications online, the party is conducting interviews of prospective candidates in all regions. Meanwhile, as many as 10 chairmen of the ruling party from Narowal met PTI leaders and announced to disassociate them from the PML-N.

They included Syed Naveed Yasin, Muhammad Asim, Naveed Khan, Arshad Khan, Muhammad Hafeez Chaudhry, Javed Faisal, Taqeer Afzal and Hafiz Imtinan Gohar who announced joining the PTI. They assured the party leadership that they will secure a big sweep of the election in Narowal.

Separately, over a hundred Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) workers joined Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday.

Those who announced to join the PTI included PML-N Cantt Vice President Nadeem Chatha, President Traders’ Wing Ferozepur Road Haji Shahid, Youth Wing President Rana Naveed, Ali Bhatti, Babar Salman Haider, Mushtaq Ahmad and their dozens of associates.
