Wheat Crop : Procurement drive starts in Sialkot 

The Punjab government will start the wheat procurement drive in the district from today

SIALKOT: The Punjab government will start the wheat procurement drive in the district from today (Thursday). Sialkot District Food Controller (DFC) Muhammad Rohail Butt said all necessary arrangements have been made. The DFC said the food department had set up 10 wheat procurement centres in all four tehsils of the district, including Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur, where staple food would be purchased directly from the growers. He said the Punjab government would purchase 92,298 tons of wheat from Sialkot. Earlier, Sialkot District Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Asghar Ali Joiya and the DFC visited wheat procurement centres in Sambrial, Pasrur, Daska, Chawinda, Poorab Kalair, Kotli Bawa Faqeer Chand and Qila Kalarwala. They inspected the process of gunny bags’ distribution and arrangements for the procurement of wheat.
