Rangers nab 11 suspects

The paramilitary force claimed to have recovered arms, ammunition and drugs from the suspects' possession

KARACHI: The Rangers claimed on Sunday to have apprehended 11 suspects during targeted raids. Members of political parties were also among the arrested suspects.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the paramilitary force arrested the suspects during raids in Manghopir, Iqbal Market, Ittehad Town, Madina Colony, Baldia Town, Korangi, Gulberg and Saddar. Among the arrested suspects, Faisal Sharif alias Kalu, Asif Khursheed alias Kala Bandar, Sohail Ahmed, Abdur Rehman alias Baba Tanki, Adnan alias Addu and Abdul Majeed Ansari alias Mamu were allegedly affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement - London while Asif Qureshi alias Rangar was an alleged worker of the Muhajir Qaumi Movement - Haqiqi.

A suspect, Noman, was arrested during a raid in Gulberg. He was allegedly involved in various cases of street crime.

Three more suspects, identified as Shafiq, Shaukat and Hidayatullah, were arrested during raids in Gulberg, Brigade and Saddar for drug peddling.

The paramilitary force claimed to have recovered arms, ammunition and drugs from the suspects' possession. They were handed over to the police for the initiation of legal proceedings.
