Attacks in Lahore (II)

May 28, 2010

DUBAI: The brutal and totally unjustified killing of Ahmedis offering prayers at two of their places of worship should be condemned by all sane elements of society. Islam does not allow the killing of religious minorities, nor does it allow harming their places of worship. The state has failed to protect them and we are collectively responsible for this shameful and heinous crime. Such acts have been occurring on a regular basis in Karachi, Faisalabad and Lahore, and not only against Ahmedis but also Christians and Hindus.

There were many prominent Ahmedis like Sir Zafarullah Khan who supported the movement for Pakistan, while many members of the clergy opposed the Muslim League and the Quaid. It is time we show zero tolerance to these extremists and not allow political
exigencies to come in our way.
