RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has imposed a ban on new water connections and decided to take action against the illegal sale of tanker water being pumped from the ground through private tube wells. RCB has also warned those indulging in water wastage and has stated that they will cancel the water supply for anyone using an excessive amount of water.

Earlier, RCB had urged the residents to use water prudently in their daily routine to avoid shortage in the coming days. They also warned that action will be taken against those using it excessively, as RCB is receiving 4 million gallons per day (MGD) from Khanpur Dam due to the fact that water level in the dam has dropped drastically. RCB spokesman, Qaiser Mahmood told APP that all out efforts are being made to meet the water demand of the residents of Cantonment areas.
