4 major takeaways from the trailer of 'Veere Di Wedding'
It's only been two days since the trailer for upcoming film Veere Di Wedding was released but, unsurprisingly, it's managed to garner 15 million hits on Youtube already!
Filled with sarcasm, wit and uncensored conversations, the film features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhaskar.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the comedy film truly describes the relationship one shares with their friends. Before Veere Di Wedding hits cinemas on June 1, here are four major takeaways from the trailer, as compiled from The Indian Express.
1. Kareena Kapoor opposite Sumeet Vyas
Veere Di Wedding will mark Kareena's comeback to the silver screen after giving birth to son Taimur Ali Khan. One thing that sticks out like a sore thumb in the trailer is the Jab We Met star's pairing with Sumeet Vyas.
Although Sumeet is pretty popular in several web series, Kareena’s acting prowess is unmatched. Their on-screen chemistry definitely intrigues us and creates a lot of anticipation to see how the story unfolds.

2. Chick flick or not?
Although one of the hashtags for the film is #NotAChickFlick, we can't help but think that the trailer suggests otherwise. This seems to be a story about four female friends trying to get through life and everything that comes with it, especially love and marriage. Inevitably, the target audience will be young women and there's nothing wrong with that! It's high time anyway for female-dominated films to make their place in the industry.
3. The age-old question of "Shaadi kab kar rahi ho?"
When will people understand that a girl's life does not revolve around marriage? Most, if not all, women dread the shaadi question from the town's aunties and Veere Di Wedding seems to address this issue with some much-needed comic relief.

Sonam’s character Avni rightly says, “No matter how educated you are, graduate or post-graduate, you’ve achieved next to nothing until you have become a wife,” while Kareena's role Kalindi aptly points out, “Shaadi apne liye kar rahe hai ya in logon ke liye? (Are we getting married for ourselves or for these people?).”
4. Uncensored
We've pretty much gauged from the trailer that the characters in this film do not hold back when speaking about certain themes. The film has made it a point to have characters who openly talk about topics which can otherwise cause many eyebrows to be raised.
