Attacks on Nato: Levies force arrest two suspects

QUETTA: The Levies force has arrested two suspects near Dhadar on Sunday involved in allegedly attacking Nato oil tankers in Balochistan.

“The Levies force signalled six suspected persons riding on three bikes to stop on road between Sibi and Bakhtiarabad but the armed men opened fire at the Levies team,” Naib Tehsildar Balanari Mir Manzoor Ahmed Shahwani told reporters.

The Levies team retaliated and arrested two of the six armed men after a gunbattle, however, their four accomplices managed to escape, Shahwani maintained. The arrested suspects were identified as Murad Ali and Rehmat.

The Levies force also recovered a Kalashnikov, one TT pistol, four bottles filled with explosive chemical and one motorcycle from their possession. During interrogation, the suspects told that they used to attack and torch oil tankers carrying oil for NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan.
