Revised route: Govt to spend Rs21.6b on Ring Road land

Punjab government will spend Rs21.6 billion on the acquisition of land for the southern section of the Ring Road.

The Punjab government will spend Rs21.6 billion on the acquisition of land for the southern section of the Ring Road in accordance with the revised design of the project, according to official sources.


The government will buy land from Sui Gas Town to Ferozepur Road at a cost of Rs4.995 billion for the 8.5-kilometre Southern Loop 1; from Ferozepur Road to Raiwind Road at a cost of Rs4.092 billion for the 13-kilometre Southern Loop-2; from Raiwind Road and Multan Road at a cost of Rs4.060 billion for the 8-kilometre  Southern Loop-3; from Multan Road to the Motorway M-2 at a cost of Rs4.449 billion for the 18-kilometre Southern Loop-4; and buy land from Babu Sabu to Package No 5 at a cost of some Rs4 billion for the 2.5-kilometre final section of the road. A Chinese company will build the road.
