Speaker urges youth to go for wide-ranging research on IT

Rahila says such innovation programmes needed to boost development

QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly Speaker Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani has urged the youth of the province to conduct wide-ranging research on information technology, saying only nations that make this discipline a part of their routine life can compete in the modern-era.

The Balochistan Assembly speaker stated this while addressing the Third Invention to Innovation Summit Balochistan 2018 arranged by the University of Balochistan on Tuesday. She was the chief guest at the event.

Speaker Rahila said, “Balochistan University is the single biggest varsity in the province that provides higher education to the youth.”

She said that she had completed her Masters in Journalism and Media from the university.

She appreciated the vice chancellor for arranging such a programme.

She said, “The Balochistan University has attracted people towards an important ideology. Through such programmes, we, the people of the province, can go the extra mile regarding development in various fields, including agriculture and education.”

She said, “Balochsitan is on the road to development as work on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is underway. It will prove productive not only for Balochistan, but for the overall region. Human resource is necessary in this regard and for it we need effective educational institutions.”

Taking over the podium, Balochistan University Vice Chancellor Dr Javed Iqbal said, “It is the third consecutive conference being held in the university. The aim of arranging this conference is to intensify and encourage the youth to adopt modern-age technology and research.”

He said that the university had united all institutions on a single platform. “This institution has played a significant role in creating awareness about higher education in Balochistan,” he aded.

Dr Abdul Raziq and Dr Waheed Noor also addressed the conference and visited stalls.

The chief guest also visited stalls and applauded the management for the great work.
