Two members of the Hazara community were gunned down on Sunday afternoon in an attack by unknown gunmen at the Western Bypass.

Two killed in targeted attack on Hazara community in Quetta

“Terrorists have been attacking innocent Hazara community members for the last two decades despite tall claims by the government that law and order is being restored,” said Balochistan Shia Conference Senior Vice President Syed Musarrat Agha while addressing a press conference.

Agha said, “Terrorists targeted and killed Balochistan Shia Conference Security In-charge Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Zaman and injured police constable Safar Ali before fleeing the scene.”

He said that the federal government launched operations Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad to cleanse the country of terrorists, but the killings of Hazara community members never stopped.

Help Hazaras, top court urges Balochistan govt

Leaders of the Balochistan Shia Conference urged the provincial government to apprehend the terrorists behind Sunday’s attack.

Appealing for preventive security measures for the Hazara community, the Balochistan Shia Conference said, “The Hazara nation is being harassed in two neighbourhoods of Quetta, while the doors to education and job opportunities have been shut for us.”

They demanded to arrest of the terrorists and trial in the military court.
