QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said that orders for the appointment of 400 candidates, who passed the National Testing Service (NTS) exam, will be issued very soon.

“Merit violation by previous provincial governments is creating hurdles in new recruitment,” said the chief minister while addressing the Balochistan Assembly’s Standing Committee constituted to address the grievances of the striking NTS-passed candidates.

CM Bizenjo said, “The provincial government is going to appoint more than 400 candidates, who cleared their NTS exam, following complete merit.”

He said that at least 4,500 candidates had cleared their test for 4,000 vacant posts and all of them had been appointed following complete merit.

On striking NTS candidates seeking jobs, the Balochistan CM said that the government could not appoint candidates who had cleared their job tests in 2015.

“I have informed candidates during open courts that the provincial government will not let injustice befall anyone, but my suggestion to them is that the remaining candidates should prepare themselves for the next exam instead of protesting,” Bizenjo said, adding that there were vacant posts in provincial departments but “we have been barred by the Election Commission of Pakistan from recruitment due to the upcoming elections”.

Slamming the opposition over politicising the issue, Bizenjo said, “Violation of merit by previous provincial governments has caused the issue to linger for three years.”

He said, “This mess was created in 2015 as the previous provincial government wasn’t able to address this issue, but after sitting on the opposition benches they have realised that this is injustice.”

Mocking the opposition parties, the chief minister said, “I don’t know why after sitting on opposition benches everyone pretends to be a true Muslim.”
