Missing minor girls recovered from Gulistan-e-Jauhar

Accused revealed he planned to sell off the minors for Rs500,000

KARACHI: Two minor girls, reported missing on April 15, were recovered by police from the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the city on Thursday.

 

The girls, aged 12 and 13 respectively, belonged to Surjani town area of the port city. Their father had lodged an FIR and nominated a couple from the neighbourhood in the police report.

Under investigation, the neighbour Sajjad revealed that he had planned to sell off the minor girls for Rs500,000, and had kept them in a relative's house in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

After recovering the girls from the residence, police sent the girls for a medical check-up. The report revealed that the girls did not suffer abuse.

Police also arrested those who facilitated the accused and said the culprits kidnapped and sold girls as part of human trafficking.
