Well-Being Of Masses: Social welfare department expanded

A sum of Rs 5 million has been allocated to train the department’s staff as well as to acquire technology.

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Social Welfare Begum Nargis Khan has said that steps are being taken to streamline the functioning of the social welfare department.

A sum of Rs five million has been allocated to train the department’s staff as well as to acquire state of the art technology.

The department is already running a helpline in Hyderabad and Sukkur, community development centres in Karachi and Thatta and a ‘darulaman’ in Benazirabad (Nawabshah).

Measures have been implemented for rehabilitation of street children in collaboration with UNICEF, said the minister.
