He was speaking at a news conference on Monday. He underlined that the PML-N would face defeat in the upcoming general elections. He added that its fate would be no different from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). "People of Punjab are not satisfied with Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif's performance. Those who decided to quit the ruling party have made the right decision."
Chaudhry said that various PML-N leaders were approaching PTI leadership to include them in the party as the ruling party has no future. "The party does not have many positions to include those who expressed his desire to join PTI. However, various parliamentarians from Punjab will soon make an announcement that they have joined the PTI," he maintained.
Highlighting corruption of multi-million rupees in development schemes in Punjab, the PTI leader said in gross merit violation, the entire family of ruling party's minister Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri has been inducted in the clean drinking water project (saaf pani project), which failed to provide safe drinking water to people of Punjab.
He said that the PML-N government has also failed to keep its promise of ending load-shedding. "Around eight hours of power outages are being carried out in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan due to the negligence of the government."
Chaudhry said that the government has installed three new power plants that were never installed or tested anywhere in the world. Out of total 5,500 MW capacity, these plants are running on 20 per cent (1,675 MW) of their capacity, he added.
He said that there is a serious grouping in the ruling party. Eight parliamentarians from South Punjab have made an announcement to quit the PML-N. "Even former premier Nawaz Sharif's stance is being criticised in the party. It seems that the so-called political party, the PML-N, will shatter before 2018 polls."
Chaudhry said that he Punjab government had established 56 companies just to violate public procurement regulations. “Circular debt of the energy sector has surpassed whopping Rs1 trillion,” he said, adding that the government has failed to do development work in South Punjab.
