Foreign delegation visits PSCA

Scholars and researchers requested a tour of the authority’s latest project

LAHORE: A delegation from Budapest’s Central Eurepoean University visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s (PSCA) premier project, the Punjab Police Integrated Central Computerised Command and Control Centre (PPIC3), on Sunday.

The delegation consisted foreign scholars and researchers, including Bach from Hungary, Danielle from USA and Jama from Somalio. They were briefed on the functions and the structure of PSCA’s premier project by Operations Commander SP Naveed and other officials heading various units.

The operations commander also gave an audio visual presentation on the operational approaches and the enforcement mechanism behind PPIC3, which is a consolidated hub of integrated policing regulating swift emergency responses including intelligent traffic management, dispatch of Punjab Police, PRU and Dolphin Force, 1122 emergency response, criminal identification, virtual surveillance and media monitoring.

The delegation showed their appreciation for the technologies and the practices that were in place. They expressed a keen interest in the facial recognition technology reinforced with swift and automated police interception protocols.

The scholars and researchers congratulated the authority on inducting qualified youth, 25% of whom are females.

Foreign researchers were informed that PSCA is collaborating with top universities regarding research and development in safety parameters and protocols.
