Individual needs fuel innovation

KARACHI: Director of Messaging and Collaboration at Lotus, CEEMA, Uffe Sorensen has said that to stimulate innovation, it is necessary to learn what stimulates an individual person.

Addressing a series of roundtable and an interactive presentation at a local hotel on Thursday, Sorensen said that the key to success is catering to the needs of the people.

The roundtable brought together people from the IT industry to engage in discussions whereas the presentation allowed the audience to learn smart solutions that can help improve organisational efficiency and cost optimisation.

Citing the example of his organisation, he said that Lotus Connections is the fastest selling product because it has been designed to cater to the specific requirements of its user which in turn saves a lot of time and money of the customer.

WebSphere Portal Leader at CEEMA, Graeme Povall said that anything an organisation does has to be ‘people-centric’ and not ‘process-centric’ because every organisation’s stakeholder is a human at the end of the day.
