Work on budget well under way

CM’s finance adviser says suggestions being taken from stakeholders, budget experts and finance department officials

QUETTA: Adviser to Balochistan Chief Minister on Finance Dr Ruqayya Saeed Hashmi has said useful suggestions are being taken from stakeholders, budget experts and finance department officials regarding the budget 2018-19.

She said this while addressing a seminar on Governance and Policy Project (GPP) organised by the finance department on Thursday.

On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Naseebullah Bazai, Finance Secretary Qamar Masood, Planning Secretary Asfand Yar, GPP Coordinator Mehfooz Ali Khan, Mujeebur Rehman, officials and others were also present.

Additional Chief Secretary Naseebullah Bazai said, “Guidance of public is helpful in resolving important issues, including budget-related problems in the province.”

He said the parliamentarians and the government departments were committed to develop the province in every field in order to provide facilities to the masses.

Education spending in Balochistan

Finance Secretary Qamar Masood said, “The budget will be prepared in view of the problems of the public.”

GPP coordinator Saif Ali Khan said it was the responsibility of the incumbent government to give importance to public opinion and add them in the upcoming budget so that maximum facilities could be provided to the public in the budget.
