KARACHI:

The full amount of ransom money has not yet been collected for the release of the Pakistani sailors being held in the captivity of Somali pirates.

The total ransom demanded $2.1 million. So far $1.6 million have been collected by the shipping company and Pakistani philanthropists.

Indian Senator KD Singh had assured that the remaining $500,000 would be transferred to a Dubai bank, but the amount has still not been received.

Human Rights activist Ansar Burney said the Somali pirates have made it clear that they will not extend their nine-day deadline any further.
