Shehbaz returns from London

Says he will keep serving people till his last breath

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif returned to Pakistan from London on Sunday on a prescheduled date.

According to the CM Office, Shehbaz returned to Lahore early on April 1 through a direct flight from London.

The office said that the CM got his checkups done and was in good health, adding that it was informed that he might return by March 26. However, the return ticket was booked for April 1. Shehbaz had left for London on March 20 for his checkup.

In London, CM Shehbaz told overseas Pakistanis that it was time to work as people had seen too many dramas and circuses. He added that Pakistan would progress when “we will work jointly and the country will earn fame. The people can distinguish between lies and truth.”



“We do politics not for coming into the power, but for the public welfare and service. The people cannot be deceived through false claims of change and revolution,” he said and questioned how those who failed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa could make claims of bringing about change in the whole country.

Shehbaz said progress and development could be witnessed in Punjab and “the real competition is between truth and falsehood”. He added that those who made record of telling lies had failed to win the hearts of the people.

Development projects of the PML-N government could be seen in all small and big cities, he said, adding that the journey of development was continuing in Punjab despite sit-ins, protests and rallies.

The Punjab CM expressed confidence that the PML-N would win more seats in the 2018 general elections due to its performance and that he would remain committed to his resolve to serve the people till his last breath.
