The passengers on-board a Bangkok-Doha flight were both amazed and amused as a bird decided to take a flight of its own midair.

The runaway bird continued to elevate upwards and downwards the cabin for four hours during the journey. The bird appeared out of nowhere when the plane was almost 39,000 feet above the ground.

A video that was made by Jake Buckingham from London shows the tiny bird hiding above the overhead luggage before leaping down and flying around the passageways.

Some of the passengers are seen trying to catch the bird, including a small kid, while others record on their phones the entertaining sight.

The bird continued its journey around for the next two-and-a-half hours until the plane landed.

The 29-year-old said, “The air hostesses were trying to ignore it, there was no announcement or anything. There was a bit of a commotion when it first appeared but then people just started to get used to it.”

“The flight staff tried catching it with their hands but they couldn't get anywhere near it - presumably they had to shoo it out of the plan after it had landed,” he added.

Buckingham added, “I don't think it had an owner - I think it was a stowaway bird from Bangkok that decided to catch a flight.”
