LHC CJ, Punjab IGP visit Judicial Complex

Directs police officers to meet with lawyers to evolve mechanism to avoid happening of firing incidents in future

RAWALPINDI: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali and Punjab IGP Arif Nawaz visited Judicial Complex on Thursday after a firing incident took place outside a session court on Wednesday.

Two under trial prisoners Ahsan Ali Sherazi and Mattiullah Raheem allegedly involved in a murder case were brought from Adiala Jail for hearing, when suddenly, one of the witnesses, Sattar Khan pulled out a pistol and shot Raheem, while someone from the prisoners’ supporters gunned down Sattar.

LHC CJ directed the police officers to hold meeting with representatives of lawyers to evolve some mechanism to avoid happening of such incidents in future.
