Two arrested in IBOs conducted in different areas of Balochistan

Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) on suspected terrorist hideouts on Tuesday in different areas of Balochistan and apprehended two suspects.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the IBOs were carried out in Duki, Shoaib Nikka, Zhob, Kabo and Mastung areas of Balochistan. A huge cache of arms and ammunition, including improvised explosive devices, detonators, explosive, ball bearings and various calibre ammunition, were also recovered, the military’s media wing stated.

In the beginning of the month, two suspected terrorists were arrested and a large cache of weapons recovered in IBOs conducted by security forces in different areas of Balochistan, the military media wing had said.


“Security Forces conducted IBOs on terrorists’ suspected hideouts in Mastung, Pashin, Khad Kacha and Sibbi. Two terrorists [were] apprehended,” said the ISPR.

A large cache of arms and ammunition including prepared IEDs, explosives, rockets and ammunition of different calibre were also recovered in the raids, it added.

The raids are part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, a military offensive launched in February 2017 against the ‘latent threat of terrorism’.
