Illegal: E&TD takes off fancy number plates

E&TD has asked owner of the vehicles to only use number plates issued by the department

ISLAMABAD: Excise and Taxation Department (E&TD) has intensified the on-going campaign against use of illegal fancy number plates by the owners of vehicles. E&TD has so far removed 4,700 illegal fancy number plates from the vehicles.

In this regard, E&TD director told that the department has constituted two teams to check vehicles at the different location of the city and remove illegal fancy number plates.



E&TD has asked owner of the vehicles to only use number plates issued by the department. It has warned that use of fancy number plate on the vehicle by the owner itself is illegal, therefore, it should be removed from the vehicle forthwith failing which legal action will be taken against the violators.

Officials said acquiring number plates has been made easy.
