ISLAMABAD: A female school teacher was shot dead by robbers on Tuesday morning in Rawalpindi's Dhok Mangtal.

Nazia Kareem, the victim, was mugged by two men soon after she left her home for school at around 7:30am.
She taught at a private school in Scheme 3 Rawalpindi. Her brother who was accompanying her later told the police that robbers shot her for resisting the mugging. The robbers however took away her hand purse containing cash and docs.

She was critically injured and died on her way to hospital. Police said the body bore three bullet wounds.

The mugging and murder in broad daylight and in presence of people in the street at the time has left the community reeling in shock.
Friends and neighbours converged at the deceased home to comfort and console the devastated family.
