
The government has completed the rehabilitation of Government College of Technology, Kandaro and Government Vocational Training Centre for Women in conflict-affected Lower Dir under the Malakand Development Program (MDP).
A statement from MDP stated that Government College of Technology (GCT) Kandaro has been rehabilitated and equipped with new furniture, IT equipment and other educational facilities. A 793 metre long boundary wall and 17 bathrooms were also constructed in the college.
In addition, 300 chairs for students, 30 office tables, 15 cupboards, ceiling fans, computers, printers, 100 steel beds for the hostel, a 10 KVA generator, four electric water coolers and a photocopy machine were also provided to the college.
Likewise, Government Vocational Training Centre for women in Balambat Tehsil has also been rehabilitated by providing chairs, office tables, five computers, a printer, ceiling fans and an electric water cooler.
Four bathrooms and a septic tank were also constructed in the training centre. The facilities will benefit 700 students and 35 teachers.
