The representatives from Islamabad Police were the main speakers. ASI Malik Liaqat Ali emphasised the role and responsibility of the police and society in controlling crimes such as drug addiction and child abuse.
ANF conducted 364 drug abuse prevention activities in 2017
He elaborated on how Islamabad Police and the society have worked in collaboration to curb the problem of drug addiction.
He further stated that an alarming number of cases of drug pushers in educational institutions have been reported and registered with Islamabad Capital Territory Police, adding that friends and colleagues have a very strong influence on the decisions of adolescents, warning that peer pressure can be a major contributing factor in experimental drug abuse. He further added that the purpose of the awareness movement is to sensitise institutions and create awareness in society.
