Quetta, Sibi Attacks BHC takes suo motu notice

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has taken suo motu notice of the attacks in Quetta and Sibi and issued notices to officials of the Balochistan government and police.

Six Shia people were killed in the Quetta attack while 15 people were burnt alive when a bus was torched in Sibi.

A division bench of the BHC, comprising Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, issued notices to Balochistan advocate-general, the provincial police officer, the Balochistan government through secretaries of the home and tribal affairs departments, the city police chief and deputy attorney-general.

Justice Noor Meskanzai, who was present at the time of the Sibi attack, brought it to the court’s attention.

Hearing of the Quetta attack case has been fixed for May 16 while the Sibi attack case will be heard on May 18.
