On February 13, Justice Nisar had granted time to SSP Anwar to surrender before the top court. However, the officer continued absconding.
Notices have been issued to SSP Anwar, the Sindh advocate-general, members of the joint investigation team that has been investigating the killing, inspector-general of police, federal interior secretary, provincial home secretary and others for the hearing.
In a first: CJP hears case on a Sunday
On Saturday, a three-judge bench headed by Justice Nisar will take up important cases relating to water and sanitation conditions in Sindh.
The apex court will also take up Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar's application seeking permission to become a member of the SC-appointed judicial commission investigating the provincial authorities' alleged failure to provide clean drinking water and improving sanitation conditions in Sindh.
The SC will also take up a case registered after suo motu notice regarding shifting of a makeshift street school in Karachi and admissions to private medical colleges in Sindh.
Three benches of the apex court will hear the cases at the registry today and tomorrow (Saturday). The judges on the benches include Justice Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Maqbool Baqar, Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.
