BAHAWALPUR: The Veterinary Care Club of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at the Bahawalpur Islamia University (BIU) organised a one-day Rabies Vaccination Camp at Model Town on Tuesday.

According to a university spokesperson, Shahzad Ahmad, pets were provided free vaccination and veterinary advice at the camps.

People brought their pets for treatment at the camp and appreciated the efforts of the university for facilitating them and creating awareness regarding animal care among the public.

“Rabies vaccination is especially important because the disease can be transferred to humans in the case of an infected animal biting a person. The best cure is prevention,” Ahmed said.

The camp lasted the entire day and scores of people brought their animals to get vaccinated.
