Safety First: PHP sets up 26 new checkposts   

Rs 10.5 million issued for repairing the checkposts in all the districts of Punjab

LAHORE: Twenty-six new checkposts will be made functional this month in different districts across the province, Punjab Highway Patrol Additional Inspector General Amjad Javed Saleemi said. He said this while addressing a session of high ranking officials at the Central Police Office. Roads totalling 900 km will be made secure so that people can travel safely. Once these posts are operational, the number of robberies shall also be reduced, he added.

PHP likely to take up traffic management across province

He revealed that Rs10.5 million had been issued for repairing the checkposts in all the districts of the province while all SPs have been directed to personally supervise the construction of the posts. Saleemi said that PHP checked 0.8 million motorcycles during a campaign against unregistered vehicles including those without number plates.
