KARACHI: The Soldier Bazaar police arrested on Monday three minor boys for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. The suspects, aged between 13 and 14 years, were identified as Sheharyar, Ibad and Kashif.

The girl and suspects were all residents of Gul Rana Society in Soldier Bazaar and were neighbours. According to the police, the nine-year-old girl's father lodged a complaint of sexual assault, after which the police arrested the three boys.

According to initial investigations, the victim was playing outside her house when the suspects forcibly took her into a vacant house and attempted to rape her. However, one of the girl's friends immediately informed the father about the incident who reached the house and saved his daughter.

A case has been registered, while further investigations are under way.

Separately, at least three political workers were arrested in Liaquatabad for allegedly engaging in wall-chalking in favour of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) - London. The police claimed to have caught the suspects red-handed.

The suspects were identified as Faiz, Faisal and Muhammad Ismail. According to the police, they were affiliated with MQM-London and they were carrying out wall-chalking in favour of Altaf Hussain when they were nabbed. A case was registered against them and further investigations are under way.
