BoP scam: Khosa nominated head of inquiry team

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) resumed its hearing on the Bank of Punjab scandal for the second day on Thursday, taking srict notice of Hamesh Khan's lawyer giving statements to the media.

The three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry noted that the case is important and should not be politicised. The court nominated ex-director General of FIA Tariq Khosa as the chief of inquiry team investigating the case.

The deputy prosecutor general informed the court that Hamesh Khan wrote messages on clothes that he sent to his family. In those messages, Hamesh directed his family members to delete important e-mails crucial to the case.

Hamesh Khan, a main accused in Rs9 billion Bank of Punjab loan scam was produced before the court on Wednesday and now the case is pending with the court of law.
