Children are the future of the nation and no nation puts its future at risk. This was stated by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti as he inaugurated a three-day polio eradication campaign on Monday.
Noting that the deadly disease disabled children for their whole life, he said that looking after them properly and protecting them from diseases like polio is the state’s responsibility.
The chief minister said that the objective of the polio eradication campaign is to create a healthy nation and healthy society. He said that the polio eradication campaign is giving positive results, saying that the day is no far when the country will be declared polio-free.
He said collective efforts to meet this challenge are a prerequisite for both, the government and society. He urged clerics, the media and civil society to join hands and create polio awareness.
The chief minister administered polio and vitamin A drops to formally inaugurate the campaign.
