KARACHI:
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has enhanced its engineering capacity that allows it to perform check ‘A’ on A320 aircraft at Islamabad, whereas previously the facility was available only at the Karachi engineering base. A ceremony was held at the Islamabad airport for completing the check ‘A’ on A320 aircraft. Sharing his views on the occasion, Adviser to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan said the PIA Engineering Division had earned more than Rs1 billion in a year by providing check ‘A’ facility for aircraft of other airlines. He said this engineering capability enhancement programme was part of PIA’s five-year business plan in order to reduce losses and come on a par with leading airlines of the world.
