LAHORE: On directions of Federal Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain, Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) sealed 50 illegal companies for not operating with legal licence during the months of January and February 2018.

Director General Khalid Siddique instructed the task force to take stern action against all illegal and unlicensed factories and brands.

During the last two months, special teams of the PSQCA started a grand operation and sealed 41 bottled water brands, three food factories, five gas water geyser brands as well as an illegal and fake cosmetics factory.

The teams also discarded a huge quantity of prepared stock on the spot and issued notices to the shopkeepers for selling illegal brands.

All these units were producing items without having the PSQCA licence and one of them was using Pakistan Standard Mark illegally.
