Accountability: Anti-corruption strategy chalked out

NAB chief says Forensic Lab has facilities of Digital Forensics, Questioned Documents and Fingerprint Analysis

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to tackle graft, the top anti-corruption watchdog has chalked out a comprehensive National Anti-Corruption Strategy. Called “Accountability for All”, it has helped double the number of complaints, inquiries and investigations this year over the corresponding period in 2017.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal on Sunday said that they the comparative figures are indicative of the hard work being put in by staff at all ranks of the accountability body in an atmosphere of renewed energy and dynamism.

The NAB chief said that their Forensic Science Lab which has facilities of Digital Forensics, Questioned Documents and Fingerprint Analysis which should be utilised for inquiries and investigations in order to further improve the quality of investigations in all respect.

The timeline of 10 months prescribed for efficient, effective and expeditious disposal of cases from complaint verification-to-inquiry-to-investigation and finally to a reference in the Accountability Court should be adhered to strictly.
