Residents of the area said that at least 10 children had fallen severely sick after being administered the vaccine in the morning and were taken to Peoples Medical hospital.
However, two of them, identified as Hasnain and Amina, could not survive while others were still being treated at the hospital, Express News reported.
Dr Mazhar, a senior doctor at the hospital said that the parents had complained about the anti-measles vaccines administered to the children for being expired. The said children were brought in the hospital in critical condition and two of them failed to recover, he added.

However, the reasons behind their demise could only be confirmed after the post-mortem report, he said.
Taking notice of the incident, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has directed those concerned in the Sindh government to investigate the matter and hand down strict punishments to the culprits.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a lady health worker for allegedly administering expired vaccine on children and launched an investigation into the incident.
