Bin Laden raid not be swept under the carpet: Rabbani

Parliamentary Committee on National Security terms the US raid a violation of sovereignty.

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Committee, Senator Raza Rabbani on Monday said that the raid in which Osama Bin Laden was killed should not be swept under the carpet.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Committee on National Security termed the US raid a violation of sovereignty and summoned a meeting of defence and intelligence officials on Wednesday.

The parliamentary body begun deliberations with the aim of bringing out the reality about the US raid in Abbottabad.

Officials of the Defence Ministry and the ISI Director General were also summoned to present their assessment in Wednesday’s meeting.

The Committee will send its recommendations to the government and the Parliament following the meeting.
