QUETTA: The Baloch cultural day was celebrated with utmost zeal on Friday to highlight the historical significance of the Baloch culture.
Thousands flooded the streets of the provincial capital dressed in traditional Balochi dresses with folk music playing aloud including the symbolic Balochi chaap.
Session court lawyers also observed the cultural celebration as majority of them were seen wearing Balochi attire. Secretary General Balochistan Bar, Attaullah Langove said that today not only the Balochs but the whole province is participating in the festivities because of the unity in the area.
“Baloch Cultural Day reminds us just how our forefathers lived in centuries past. Interaction with other ethnicities is pushing us towards understanding each other’s cultural values”, said Langove.
Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo wished people a cheerful Baloch cultural day through a video message and vowed to keep the local traditions alive and kicking. “Baloch nation is fond of celebrating their cultural days, I am glad that our Baloch youth is closer to their values”, said Bizenjo.

Moreover, a cultural ceremony was held in Metropolitan Garden by the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), where people including women and children participated to show their admiration of the native culture.
“We want to show the rest of the world how the Baloch used to live, it is our desire to keep our customs and values alive even in this modern era,” said a participant.
The cultural festivities were held across the province, including Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Naushki, Dalbandin, Chaghi, Gwadar, Hub, Lasbela, Awaran, Turbat, Jaffarabad, and Chaman.
