Police arrests three suspected terrorists

ISLAMABAD: Sabzi Mandi Police claimed to have arrested three suspected terrorists including one Taliban commander from sector I-10/1.

The commander is suspected of being involved in recruiting youngsters to the Taliban cause from all over Pakistan, a police official told The Express Tribune. “We have also recovered a hand grenade and explosives from the possession of the suspects,” he said. “A source tipped us off that suspected terrorists were present in the area opposite the green belt in sector I-10/1,” he added.

Those arrested include Muhammad Naeem who belongs to Batkhela in Malakand Division, and Noorullah and Saleemullah who belong to Tehsil Mohmand in Bajaur Agency. “During investigations we found out that Naeem is a Taliban commander who recruits youngsters for Jihad from all over the country. He has also admitted to have fought against security forces at many fronts in Afghanistan,” the officer said.
