LAHORE: The sixth annual floral art exhibition began at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), a press release issued on Thursday stated. The exhibition was arranged by the Floral Art and Horticulture Society, while 50 students from different departments displayed their artistic work in the competition. The event was attended by Botany Department Chairperson Prof Farah Khan, Registrar Uzma Batool, Dr Intsar Ahmad and senior members of faculty.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof Farah Khan said, “Terrorism is the biggest threat to Pakistan as economic prosperity can only thrive during times of peace.”
She appreciated the flower decoration by the students and said that flowers were a symbol of peace as they had a positive impact on the thinking of a person.
She lauded efforts of LCWU’s Floral Art Society for organising healthy competitions among the youth.
Farah Khan maintained that the event had encouraged the young generation to exhibit their talent.
Meanwhile, Fatima Umar and Farkhanda secured first position in the fresh flower and ikebana categories, while Faiza and Sharmeen group won the dry flower and green segments.
