Balochistan: Steps under way to promote agriculture

ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan government is taking concrete measures for promotion of the agriculture sector aimed at increasing production of food grains in the province. Talking to Radio Pakistan, Provincial Agriculture Department (PAD) director general said that the existing agriculture training institute in Quetta is being strengthened at a cost of Rs500 million. He further said that a special programme has been launched to enhance production of various types of crops through research innovations in the province. Implementation of the programme would cost Rs364 million. Similarly, a project to promote horticulture is being executed at a cost of Rs78 million to increase production of various types of fresh foods.
