LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) is launching a tree planting campaign in collaboration with Punjab Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries Department (PFWFD) on Tuesday.  Lahore Fort will be the starting point for the campaign. The PFWFD will plant indigenous trees and plants such as Amaltaas, Peepal and Borh inside the fort keeping in view the values and norms of the heritage site.

After this, the campaign will be taken to other open parts of the city. The campaign will be inaugurated by the WCLA director general and PFWFD secretary. Simultaneously, an awareness campaign to mitigate pollution and smog will also be underway.

WCLA DG said that he thinks this is a good initiative by PFWFD to raise awareness among people for the mitigation of smog and pollution. This will also contribute to the beauty of Lahore Fort, making it look livelier.
