Senior officials are preparing list of two dozen officers to be transferred, posted phase-wise

The police department has planned a massive reshuffling in the Sindh police as the transfer and posting of several senior police officers and Karachi's additional inspector-general is expected soon.
It was learnt that senior police officials are preparing a list of about two dozen officers who will be transferred and posted in a phase-wise exercise with the mutual understanding of the Sindh home department.
In the first phase, a rank wearing ceremony of the recently promoted deputy inspector-generals (DIGs) was held at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Monday, where three senior police officers were given additional charges of vacant posts, while two senior officers were removed from their posts.
Sindh IG Allah Dino Khowaja pinned the badges on the recently promoted DIGs. Ahmed Yar Chohan, Javed Mahar, Asim Qaimkhani, Naeem Shaikh and Javed Akbar Riaz were among the recently promoted DIGs of the Sindh police.
Separately, two senior police officers of BS-18 and one of BS-19 were allowed to hold charge of different vacant posts in the department for a temporary period.
Captain (retd) Ghulam Azfar Mahesar of BS-18, an assistant IG of welfare, was allowed to hold charge of the post of CPO's establishment AIG in addition to his own duties.

Sheeraz Nazeer, a senior District City SP was allowed to hold charge of the post of District South SSP in addition to his own duties.
Syed Muhammad Abbas Rizvi, special branch SSP intelligence was allowed to hold charge of the post of special branch security SSP in addition to his own duties.
Similarly, Karachi Range Administration DIG Dr Ghulam Sarwar Jamali and Sindh Reserve Police DIG Muhammad Naeem Akram Bharoka, a BS-20 officer, were transferred and directed to report to CPO with immediate effect and until further orders.
Sources in the police department said more reshuffling in the Sindh police is expected in the coming days. The police sources said that a list has been prepared of senior police officers who are likely to be transferred and posted to new posts.
"Multiple lobbies are working ahead of the transfer and postings in the police department," said a senior police official, who wished not to be named. "Besides this, internal lobbies comprising important personalities of the Sindh government, are also taking up the transfer and postings issue on behalf of the government."
Six senior police officers transferred, posted
Sources said that the Sindh government has also recommended the names of their confidant police officers for postings in the department, adding that the government and police department have reached an understanding on the names of some officers.
It was learnt that a list of senior police officers is being prepared for the posts of Karachi additional IG and South, East and West Zone DIGs, administration DIG, establishment DIG, headquarters DIG, District Central SSP, District Korangi SSP, District South SSP and Clifton divison SP. Apart from this, several police officers for rural Sindh are also likely to be transferred and posted.
Former traffic DIG Dr Ameer Shaikh, who was recently promoted to the post of additional IG, is a strong candidate for the post of Karachi additional IG in place of incumbent Additional IG Mushtaq Maher.
Sources said that the government and police department have agreed on him.
District South DIG Azad Khan is likely to be transferred and posted as headquarters DIG, while Naeem Shaikh, who was recently promoted to the post of DIG, is likely to be transferred and posted as the establishment DIG. The West DIG is likely to be asked to report to CPO, while DIG Amir Farooqui and recently promoted DIG Asim Qaimkhani are strong contestants for East DIG, while recently promoted Javed Akbar Riaz is likely to be transferred and posted as South DIG.
SSP Irfan Bahadur and SP Dr Riwan are strong contestants for District Central SSP and Abid Baloch and Tauqeer Naeem are favourites for District Korangi and Clifton SPs.
