Sindh police witnesses massive reshuffle in hierarchy

At least four DIGs, seven SSP and 11 SPs transferred and posted by IG AD Khawaja

KARACHI: A few days after the Sindh High Court (SHC) ruled that Sindh Inspector-General of Police Allah Dino Khawaja will continue as the provincial police chief, bringing an end to the legal wrangling between civil rights campaigners and the Sindh government over the IG's posting, Sindh's police department witnessed a massive reshuffling.

At least four deputy inspector-generals (DIGs), seven senior superintendents of police (SSPs) and 11 superintendents of police (SPs) were transferred and posted by the Sindh IG. Meanwhile, Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti, a grade-21 police officer has also resumed charge of the office of the additional inspector-general of research, development, inspection and enquiries in Karachi.

Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh was posted as technical and transport DIG against an existing vacancy. Finance DIG Imran Yaqoob Minhas was transferred and posted as the Karachi traffic DIG replacing Asif Aijaz Shaikh. Minhas is allowed to hold charge of the finance DIG post in addition to his own duties.

Six senior police officers transferred, posted

Information Technology DIG Sultan Ali Khawaja was transferred and posted as Karachi East Zone DIG replacing grade-20 police officer Arif Hanif who proceeded to join a National Management Course in Lahore.

On promotion to BS-20 by the establishment division, Saqib Ismail Memon was posted as Karachi Criminal Investigation Agency DIG, replacing Dr Jamil Ahmed who was transferred and directed to report to the Central Police Office.

Hyderabad district SSP Irfan Ali Baloch was transferred and posted as the District Central SSP, replacing Lt Cdr (retd) Muqaddas Haider, who was transferred as the Karachi Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) SSP, replacing Manzoor Ali Khatian who was directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO) in Karachi.

Syed Pir Muhammad Shah was transferred and posted as the Hyderabad SSP, replacing Irfan Ali Baloch.

Sindh may surrender services of its top cop to Centre

Larkana SSP Umar Tufail was transferred and posted as Shikarpur SP, replacing Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui. Meanwhile Siddiqui has been posted as the Karachi Establishment ADIG against an existing vacancy.

Karachi Intelligence Special Branch SSP Muhammad Younus Chandio was transferred and posted as the District West SSP, replacing Nasir Aftab who was transferred and directed to report to the CPO.

Larkana Counter-Terrorism Department SP Abdul Ahmed was transferred and posted as the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) SSP, replacing Tariq Razzak Dharejo. Dharejo was posted as Special Investigation Unit SSP against an existing vacancy.

Karachi Foreigners Security Cell SP Haseeb Afzal Baig was transferred and posted as Thatta SSP, replacing Fida Hussain Mastoi who directed to report to the CPO.

Gulberg division SP Bashir Ahmed Brohi was transferred and posted as Kashmore SP, replacing Dr Samiullah Soomro. Soomro was posted as the District East SSP, replacing Captain (retd) Faisal Abdullah.

Reshuffling: Eight police officers transferred  

Shaban Ali was posted Shah Faisal SP, replacing Hassan Sardar Ahmed Khan while Hassan Sardar has been posted as Security II SP, replacing Imran Riaz.

Abdul Hameed Khoso was posted as Motor Transport AIG, replacing Abdul Azim Tunio who was directed to report to the CPO.

Telecommunication AIG Nisar Ahmed Channa was transferred and posted as the Sakrand SP Principal SCTC against an existing vacancy.

AlFalah Base RRF SP Rukshsar Ahmed Khuhwar, was transferred and posted as District Naushero Feroz SP, replacing Captain (retd) Pervaiz Ahmed Chandio. Sukkur Headquarters SP Muhammad Rashid Hadayat was transferred and posted as Larkana Principal PTS SP against an existing vacancy.
